Ivan Juric set to be appointed as new AS Roma manager

AS Roma are set to appoint Ivan Juric as the new manager, a few hours after sacking former boss and club legend, Danielle de Rossi, Afrosport reports.

De Rossi was fired earlier on Wednesday for failing to win a match in the Giallorossi’s opening four Serie A matches.

According to multiple reports, the Italian capital outfit and Juric have agreed to a short-term deal that will see the Croatian gaffer remain in charge until the end of the season with an option to extend it if Roma qualifies for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

He has lots of Italy experience under his belt having spent his entire managerial career in the peninsula.

After starting as assistant to his mentor Gian Piero Gasperini at Inter Milan and Palermo in 2011 and 2012, Juric has grown to handle the likes of Mantova, Crotone, Genoa, Hellas Verona, and Torino.

His highest achievement so far was in 2016 when he led a less-fancied Crotone to the Serie A for the first time in the club’s history.

Juric also had three different spells with Genoa between  June 2016 and December 2018.
