Newcastle United have rejected an opening offer of £110 million plus add-ons from Liverpool for Alexander Isak, Afrosport reports.
According to BBC Sport, the Magpies value Isak at about £150 million, with the Reds’ offer far from that demand.
The 25-year-old Swedish striker of Eritrean heritage was left out of the Magpies’ squad for their pre-season tour of Asia as he explores a move away from St. James’ Park.
The bid from Liverpool comes as Isak continues to train alone at his former club Real Sociedad, amid continued uncertainty around his future.
He was signed from the Spanish La Liga side in the summer of 2023 and has scored 62 goals and 109 appearances for Newcastle, helping them to their first domestic title in seven decades by winning last season’s EFL Cup over Liverpool.
The Tyneside outfit are looking to sign DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa from Brentford as his replacement. The Bees have however rejected an opening bid, with Wissa equally training away from the first team.
