Eze praises Crystal Palace mentality in win over Brighton

Ndiaye feels great scoring for Everton on return from injury

Eberechi Eze has praised the mentality of Crystal Palace in their 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion Albion in the Premier League on Saturday, Afrosport reports.

The 26-year-old England winger of Nigerian heritage provided the assists for the goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Daniel Munoz as Palace recorded their fourth win in their last five league games.

The match however ended on a sour note as Palace ended with nine men after Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi received two yellow cards while Jan Paul van Hecke was sent off in the same manner for Brighton.

“You can talk about tactics,” Eze told Premier League Productions per the club website. “But I think it was mainly it was the heart and the desire to keep going, keep pushing and keep the mentality to stay strong [that secured the victory]

“The boys did that, which was important. We did everything we needed to do. The boys who came off the bench as well, they put in an incredible shift. And again, we need everyone to push on throughout this season.

“We know what it means. We know what it means to the fans.”

Crystal Palace will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next Saturday and Eze believes his team have a good chance of causing an upset.

“We’re confident, we believe in ourselves,” he added. “We trust that we can win every single game, so it’s about putting in performances on the day.

“I’m sure that if we do that, we’ve got a good chance.”

Eze now has 10 goal involvements this season (two goals, eight assists), making it the third season in a row he has hit double digits.
