Eze: In-form Crystal Palace star doubtful for Fulham clash

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has revealed that Eberechi Eze is doubtful for the Eagles’ Premier League clash with London rivals Fulham this weekend.

The Anglo-Nigerian has been in top form since the Austrian tactician took charge from Roy Hodgson in February, having a hand in five goals (three goals, two assists).

Glasner however revealed that Eze is not certain to feature against the Cottagers as he has a knee problem he picked up in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday.

“Eberechi Eze is questionable for tomorrow – he has a problem with his knee. Everyone else is fit – nobody new is back but just this one [new issue],” Glasner said ahead of the game.

“It was a match injury, we didn’t really train for two days now, we were just doing recovery. He was knocked down many times in the [Newcastle] game so we will see.”

Glasner however stated that Michael Olise, another in-form player is fit for the derby after fitness concerns before the Newcastle game.

“He would have been fit to start before the Newcastle game, but we spoke and then we decided together that it makes sense to give him fewer minutes against Newcastle and have him fit against Fulham.”

Meanwhile, Fulham boss Marco Silva praised Glasner for the job he has gone since he took charge and also praised the form of Eze and Olise.

“…The job [Glasner] is doing is strong. His impact for the club is clear to see with the way they play,” Silva said.

“Young players like [Eberechi] Eze and Michael [Olise] – when they are at their top level they can compete against any team.

“It’s going to be a really good challenge for us.

Palace have avoided defeat in six of the nine games Glasner has overseen (W4 D2), winning each of the last three games, which has guaranteed their survival in the Premier League for next season.
