Lamine Yamal has been crowned the Euro 2024 Young Player of the Tournament after helping Spain to victory in Sunday’s final against England.
The 17-year-old, who is the of Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean heritage, set up Nico Williams for La Roja’s first goal which they ultimately won 2-1.
Yamal has been arguably the star attraction as he became the youngest player to feature in the tournament at the age of 16.
He would go on to set more records when Spain reached the semi-finals and scored his first international goal, surpassing Brazil icon Pele to become the youngest player to score in either a World Cup or Euro semi-final.

Overall, Yamal had a hand in five goals, providing four assists. Three of the earlier assists came in the quarter-final victory over Germany and the round of 16 thumping of Georgia. He also laid one in the Group B opener against Croatia.
Meanwhile, teammate and Manchester City midfielder Rodri, was awarded with the Player of the Tournament award.
