Euro 2024: England captain Kane determined to win coveted trophy in Berlin

Euro 2024: Declan Rice disagrees with ‘overhyped’ Yamal claim

England captain Harry Kane is determined to win the Euro 2024 title when the Three Lions lock horns with Spain in Sunday’s final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Gareth Southgate’s men have made it back-to-back finals in the continental showpiece, and for the first time on foreign soil.

Kane was part of the team that lost on penalties to Italy three years ago at Wembley, and the 30-year-old would relish the chance to win the first trophy of his career at both club and country level.

“Yeah, it’s no secret that I haven’t won a team trophy and every year that goes by you’re more motivated and you’re more determined to change that,” the Bayern Munich forward said.

“Tomorrow night I have the opportunity to win one of the biggest you could ever win and to make history with my nation which I’m extremely proud to be English. So yeah, no question I’d swap everything I’ve done in my career to have a special night and a win tomorrow evening.

“But yeah, that’s not the case [yet] so there’s a lot of hard work from now until that moment. But yeah, I’m really determined to make tomorrow night a special one.”

Kane is the joint Euro 2024 top scorer on three goals along with five others (Dani Olmo, Cody Gakpo, Georges Mikautadze, Jamal Musiala and Ivan Schranz).
