Former NBA stars Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard both lead a star-studded list of inductees into the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Class, Afrosport reports.
Anthony, a former third overall pick, played 19 seasons in the NBA, where he was named an All-Star 10 times and made six All-NBA selections. He led Syracuse to its first NCAA national championship and won three Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
The former Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks star was also named to the NBA’s 75th anniversary team, is 10th on the league’s all-time scoring list with 28,289 points, and won three Olympic gold medals with the United States.

Howard, meanwhile, was a dominant presence during his time in the NBA, which led to him being named the Defensive Player of the Year three times. Selected by the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick in 2004, he made eight All-Star appearances and was named to eight All-NBA teams during his 18-year career.
The 39-year-old won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 and ranks 10th all-time in rebounds (14,627) and 13th in blocks (2,228) in NBA history. He also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2008 in Beijing.

WNBA legends Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles, who were teammates during their time with the Minnesota Lynx, have also been named as inductees following stellar WNBA careers.

She won two NCAA national championships, as well as two Olympic gold medals and two FIBA World Cup golds.
Fowles, on the other hand, is a four-time Olympic gold medallist, two-time WNBA champion, and Finals MVP with the Lynx. She ended her 15-year career as an eight-time All-Star, four-time Defensive Player of the Year, the WNBA’s all-time rebounds leader (4,006), and a member of the league’s 25th anniversary team.
Team USA’s men’s basketball team at the 2008 Olympics will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The team, which had superstars like Kobe Bryant, Anthony Howard, LeBron James, Jason Kidd, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, and Chris Bosh, helped the United States reclaim Olympic gold after their bronze medal finish in 2004.
Tagged the “Redeem Team” and led by Hall of Fame coach Mike KrzyzewskI, they finished the Olympics with an unbeaten 8-0 record, including seeing off Spain 118-107 in the gold medal game.
