CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United to know quarter-final opponent on March 12

Nigeria’s flag bearer at this year’s CAF club competitions, Rivers United, will get to know their quarter-final opponent when the draws for both the Champions League and Confederation Cup are conducted on Tuesday, March 12.

The 2021-22 NPFL champions beat ten-man Dreams FC 2-1 on Sunday to finish as Group C’s second-placed team with 12 points and progress to the knockout round in back-to-back seasons for the first time in their history.

Rivers United were beaten 2-0 on aggregate by Tanzania’s Young Africans in the quarter-final stage last season, and they will be looking to move past the last eight stages this season.

The draws, which will be conducted at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, will begin with the CAF Confederation Cup at 2 p.m. local time (1 p.m. Nigerian time), followed by the draws for the CAF Champions League at 3 p.m. local time (2 p.m. Nigerian time).
