2023 African Games: Bosso names Bameyi, Daga & 18 others in Flying Eagles squad

U-20 AFCON: CAF appoints Libyan referee for Nigeria and Gambia clash

Nigeria’s U20 coach, Isah Ladan Bosso, has named team captain Daniel Bameyi, Enyimba midfielder Daniel Daga and goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu in his final 20-man squad for the men’s football tournament at the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana.

Bosso led the Flying Eagles to a third-place finish at the U20 AFCON in March 2023 and he also listed forwards Charles Agada and Olalekan Ibrahim, defenders Musa Abdullahi and Godwin Sampson, as well as midfielders Favour Izuogu and Ibrahim Idris in the team.

The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group B of this year’s tournament alongside Uganda, South Sudan, Senegal and Tunisia and they will kick off their participation in the men’s event against the Uganda Hippos on Friday, March 8 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Nigeria ended as runners-up in the men’s football competition at the last African Games in Rabat, Morocco in 2019, after losing to Burkina Faso in the final.
