Head coach of Enyimba Yemi Olanrewaju says the team will work very hard to ensure they do not fall short in their second preliminary round, second leg CAF Confederation Cup clash against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso, Afrosport reports.
The People’s Elephant forced Etoile Filante to a 0-0 draw in Bamako in the first leg, and the former Mountain of Fire FC coach is now targeting victory at home when they host their West African counterparts next week at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
He told the club’s media: “The job is far from over, and we can’t afford to celebrate yet. Next week’s return leg in Uyo will be crucial.
“We will go back to the drawing board, work harder, and prepare for the challenge ahead.”
Olanrewaju however acknowledged that Etoile Filante will come to Nigeria with a different approach as they also want to win, he is however banking on the quality of his team and the determination of his men to get the job done in Uyo.
The second leg is scheduled for Sunday and Enyimba will progress to the next round if they win the game by any margin.
