Malian football club Djoliba AC and Egyptian side Pyramids FC played out a goalless draw in their second CAF Champions League Group D encounter at the Stade du 26 Mars on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
Pyramids came into the game with hopes to continue their winning dominance after their 5-1 victory over Sagrada Esperanca in the opening game while Djoliba were hoping to bounce back after their 4-0 loss to Esperance.
The first half saw Pyramids’ Ramadan Sobhi and Marwan Hamdy come close with efforts that went narrowly wide, while Djoliba’s Aboubacar Diakite missed a close-range header in the 35th minute.
The draw sees Pyramids FC top Group D with four points, tied with Esperance Tunis, who also played out a goalless draw against Sagrada on Friday while Djoliba and Sagrada remain at the bottom with a single point each
Meanwhile, Sudanese giants, Al Hilal Omdurman secured a 2-1 victory over DR Congo side TP Mazembe in their second Group A match.
Mohamed Abdelrahman put Al Hilal in the lead from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute after Alioune Faty was fouled in the box, while Oscar Tshikomb equalised for Mazembe in the 64th minute.
Girumugisha scored the winner for the Sudanese side in the dying moments of the match as he unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box, beating the goalkeeper to the bottom left corner and sparking wild celebrations at the Stade Cheikha Ould Boidiya in Mauritania.

Al Hilal sit atop Group A with six points from two matches, followed by MC Alger, who defeated Young Africans 2-0 on Saturday while Mazembe remain in third place with a single point, followed by Young Africans at the bottom after two consecutive losses.
