Bremer: Juventus confirm successful knee surgery for Brazil defender

Fresh injury blow for Juventus as Bremer faces knee surgery

Juventus defender Gleison Bremer has undergone successful surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee, Afrosport reports.

Following medical examination by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in Lyon on Monday, it was concluded that the 28-year-old Brazilian required surgery.

The procedure was carried out on Tuesday morning, with Juventus confirming that the Brazilian underwent arthroscopic selective meniscectomy surgery on his left knee.

A statement from the club added: “In the coming days, the player will begin the rehabilitation process aimed at returning to competitive activity.”

Bremer was out for a lengthy period last season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He has made five appearances this term and last played in a 1-1 draw with Atalanta on 27 September.

Juventus sit fifth in Serie A with 12 points and are away at Como on 19 October after the international break. The Bianconeri then visit Real Madrid in the Champions League on 22 October before back-to-back league games against Lazio and Udinese.
