Bendel Insurance appoint Kennedy Boboye as new head coach

Bendel Insurance Football Club have appointed Kennedy Boboye as their new coach, just a week after the suspension of former head coach Greg Ikhenoba, Afrosport reports

The announcement was made on Monday, October 13, 2025, through a statement issued by the club’s Director of Media and Communications, Kehinde Osagiede. According to the statement, Boboye’s appointment is the result of a mutual agreement between the club and the seasoned coach, who is expected to assume duties immediately.

The club confirmed that Boboye has signed a two-year deal following what it described as a “thorough evaluation process.” His extensive experience in the Nigeria Premier Football League, impressive track record, and professional credentials were key factors in the decision.

Arrangements have been finalised for the official unveiling of the Delta-born tactician, scheduled to take place in Benin City on Tuesday, October 14.

Club officials expressed optimism that Boboye’s arrival will mark the beginning of a new era for the team, with hopes of improved performances and a boost in morale as the current NPFL season progresses.

Boboye, a winner of the NPFL with Plateau United also coached Akwa United and Remo Stars in the past, he also worked briefly as part of the assistant coaches in the Nigeria National team.
