Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has been sidelined after suffering a torn thigh muscle, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old played the full 90 minutes and scored in his Poland’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania on Sunday but later felt discomfort.
“Lewandowski has a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of the left thigh. His recovery time will depend on how the injury evolves,” Barcelona said in a statement.

Reports suggest the striker could be out for four to six weeks, making him a major doubt for the El Clasico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 26 October.
Lewandowski joins a growing injury list for coach Hansi Flick, with Raphinha, Gavi, and Dani Olmo already sidelined. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen also remains out as he continues his recovery from back surgery.
However, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez are expected to return to action after the international break, offering some relief for the Catalans.
