Spanish giants Barcelona have announced the appointment of former Germany and Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick as new head coach on a two-year deal.
Flick replaces Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez, who was sacked earlier in the week despite leading the Catalan club to a second-place finish in La Liga and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League this season.

The 59-year-old gets his first head coach role since he was dismissed by the German national team in September 2023 following a series of bad results.
Flick spent two years as Bayern’s manager, leading them to back-to-back triumphs in the Bundesliga as well as winning the club’s sixth Champions League title.
The German has his work cut out for him with the current financial situation of the 27-time Spanish champions. He would also need to replicate the success Xavi had in his first full season, where he led Barcelona to a La Liga triumph.
It’s our moment.
