Usyk and Fury rematch set for December 21 in Saudi Arabia

A date has been set for the rematch of the heavyweight bout between undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority, Turki Alalshikh, revealed on Wednesday.

The two heavyweight boxers will face off in a rematch on December 21 in Riyadh, the same venue where the first fight on May 19 was held.

Alalshikh revealed the news of the rematch in a post on his official X account (formerly Twitter).

The post read: “The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season”

“The world will watch another historical fight again…Our commitment to boxing fans continues…We hope you enjoy it.”

Usyk, who is the reigning WBA, WBO, IBF, and WBC champion, beat Fury earlier this month to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

The Ukrainian also became the first boxer to hold on to four belts at the same time in the heavyweight category following his split decision win at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
