Nigeria Professional Football League club Akwa United have promoted two players from their youth set-up to the first-team ahead of the commencement of the 2022–23 season.
Left-back and the club’s Under-15 captain Nsikan Alloyisus, alongside goalkeeper Covenant Bassey, who participated in the 2021 NPFL/La Liga Promise tournament, were both invited to the National U-15 camp.
Alloyisus recently completed his secondary school education at the Government Technical College in Ewet Offot while Bassey graduated from Aka Community Secondary School in Uyo and they have started training with the coach Ayodeji Ayeni’s squad.

Nsikan will wear jersey number 38, while Covenant has been handed jersey number 40.
Akwa United will begin the new season with a home match against Bendel Insurance at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on January 8.
