AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Super Eagles camp bubbles as three more players arrive Uyo

Three more Super Eagles players have touched down the team’s training base in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, on Monday, for their opening two matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Afrosport reports.

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface and former Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie joined up with their teammates to take the number of arrivals in the camp to ten players.

Earlier in the day, seven players including team captain William Troost-Ekong, Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman and Italy-based Fisayo Dele-Bashiru were among the early arrivals in Uyo.

Meanwhile, according to the Nigeria Foootball Federation, Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’ arrival to the camp is imminent, with the 28-year-old expected to also touchdown on Monday.

Led by interim head coach and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles will face Benin Republic and Rwanda in the space of three days.

The Eagles, drawn in Group D of the qualifiers, are due to face the Cheetahs of Benin on Saturday, September 7, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, before jetting out to Kigali to take on Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Amahoro National Stadium three days later.
