AFCON 2023: Aina reveals secret behind Nigeria’s impressive results ahead of South Africa game

The Super Eagles will be without Ola Aina when they take on Rwanda in matchday six in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on Monday, Afrosport reports.

The 28-year-old defender has been granted permission to leave the Super Eagles camp and return to England after his club Nottingham Forest pleaded with Augustine Eguavoen for his early release.

Aina has been an integral part of Forest’s setup since he joined the club in the summer of 2023. He has featured in all 11 Premier League games this season, scoring once and helping the team to four clean sheets.

Forest, fifth in the Premier League, will visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 23, to take on fourth-placed Arsenal in a top-four battle.

Meanwhile, Aina, will have to watch from home as the Super Eagles host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, on Monday in their final game in the AFCON qualifiers.
