Dylan Batubinsika has called for DR Congo to focus on their last remaining task when they battle with South Africa for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medal on Saturday night in Abidjan.
The Leopards lost 1-0 to hosts Ivory Coast in the semi-finals and will be gunning for their third AFCON bronze medal having previously won it in 1998 and 2015.
Batubinsika however did not hide his disappointment at DR Congo’s failure to reach the final.
“We’ll be disappointed for a while because we had the potential to go all the way,” the Saint-Etienne player said.
“I think we have a mixture of feelings with the elimination, but our ambition is to go and get this medal. We have to stay mobilised to at least finish in third place.
“We have to be proud of what we’ve done so far, we’ve had a great run, we would have liked to go all the way but that wasn’t the case.”
