Co-hosts of the 2024 African Nations Championship, Tanzania, maintained their perfect start with a 1-0 Group B win over Mauritania in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.
The Taifa Stars started out with a 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso last weekend and made it two wins in as many games thanks to Shomari Kapombe’s 89th minute strike.
In the other group game, Burkina Faso got their first win on board with a 4-2 win over Central African Republic.
Papus Ouattara, Abdoul Abass Guiro, Palo Malo and Abdoul Baguian all registered their names on the scoresheet for the Burkinabe while Sydney Tchibinda and Ange Zoumara netted for the Central Africans.
