Ayomide Cole netted a last-gasp equaliSer as Ikorodu City earned a 2-2 draw in Lagos against Enyimba in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Afrosport reports.
The Oga Boys went ahead in the 41st minute through Tosin Oyedokun, who volleyed past goalkeeper Ani Ozomena in Enyimba’s goal, with the home team taking the lead into the halftime break.
The visitors, however, responded and were the much better side in the second half restart, drawing level in the 66th minute through Mujeeb Odufeso.
Enyimba then went ahead for the first time in the game through Joseph Atule in the 73rd minute. The People’s Elephants thought they had won in Lagos until Cole showed up at the death to earn the home team a point.
Ikorodu City stays fourth on 45 points, while Enyimba dropped to eighth after amassing 42 points from 29 games.
Elsewhere, leaders Remo Stars defeated Heartland 2-0 courtesy of goals from Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo.
The Sky Blue Stars have now garnered 57 points, eight more than second-placed Rivers United, who beat El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1 in Maiduguri.
It was El-Kanemi’s first home defeat in 687 days; their last defeat at home was in April 2023, a 1-0 loss to Enyimba.
Meanwhile, Akwa United defeated Shooting Stars 2-0; Endurance Ebedebiri and Uche Sebastine scored the goals, while Bayelsa United pipped Lobi Stars 1-0.
Abia Warriors also defeated Bendel Insurance 1-0 through Sunday Megwo’s 43rd-minute effort, and Kano Pillars were held to a 1-1 draw by Nasarawa United at the Sani Abacha stadium.
