Emmanuel Dennis scored for Watford as they ended up on the losing side of a 2-1 home defeat to Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward joined the Hornets for the second time, this time on loan from Nottingham Forest after his earlier loan at Istanbul Basaksehir was terminated.
Dennis scored his first goal on his second Watford return in a 2-1 home loss against Championship leaders Leicester City. One that occasion, he scored the consolation goal after Zambia forward Patson Daka and Ricardo Pereira had put the Foxes in front.
This time against Huddersfield, he put Watford in front in the 55th minute with a powerful strike from close range after being set up by Yaser Asprilla. Dennis’ time came on the pitch however came to an end just four minutes later due to injury and was replaced by Mileta Rajovic.
Huddersfield found their way back thanks to Daniel Ward’s brace in the 71st and 83rd minute for their third win in their last five league games while it was a fourth defeat in the same number of games for Watford.
After the game, Watford coach Valerien Ismael addressed Dennis’ injury confirming it was a groin injury.
“Dennis has a groin issue, so we need to assess him,” he said.

Dennis also took to social media to reflect on the game saying:

Watford sit in 11th place on the Championship table, 11 points away from the promotion playoff spot and eight points clear of the relegation zone.
