Victor Boniface scored his first Bundesliga goal for Bayer Leverkusen by netting a brace in their 3-0 bashing of Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
The Nigeria international scored his first competitive goal on his debut in an 8-0 win over Teutonia Ottensen in the first round of the DFB Cup a fortnight ago. It was followed by an assist for Jeremie Frimpong’s goal in Leverkusen’s 3-2 win over RB Leipzig last weekend.
Boniface gave Xabi Alonso’s side the lead in the 18th minute with a header that was nodded to his path by Alex Grimaldo. German-Ivorian centre-back Jonathan Tah doubled Leverkusen’s lead in added time of the first half with a brilliant flick.
