Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will face Brazil in their final Group D match at the FIFA U-20 World Cup on Saturday.
The West Africans are through to the tournament’s knockout stage after wins against Dominican Republic and Italy, while Brazil are hunting for a win in La Plata to guarantee themselves a place in the next round.
Ramon Menezes’ team are levelled on three points with Italy but they sit second with a better goal difference after their 5-1 mauling of the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.
Key Players to look out for
Salim Fago Lawal (Nigeria): The 19-year-old has proven to be a key part of Ladan Bosso’s team in Argentina, scoring in each of their first two games. Lawal scored the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Dominican Republic and he also opened the scoring against Italy with a diving header on Sunday.
Marcos Leonardo (Brazil): Leonardo is one of the three highest-scoring players at the U20 World Cup with three goals in two games. He scored a second-half brace in Brazil’s 3-2 loss to Italy in the opening match and he also bagged a goal in the 6-0 bashing of Dominican Republic. The Santos striker’s eye for goal might be a threat to Nigeria as the South Americans chase an all-important win.

Brazil head into Saturday’s game in La Plata as the dominant side after five previous meetings in the U20 World Cup. Brazil have four of the last five meetings with a draw.
