Rwandan midfielder Jojea Kwizera believes home advantage will help the Amavubi when they host Nigeria in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the iconic Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Friday, Afrosport reports.
The Central African nation played out a goalless draw when the two teams faced each other in Kigali last September in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations before going on to stun the three-time African champions in Uyo.
Rwanda are currently at the top of Group C, four points clear of Nigeria, and Kwizera has urged Rwandan fans to fill the Amahoro stadium to support the Amavubi.
“Hello everyone, it’s Jojea Kwizera of the national team of Rwanda,” the Rhode Island FC player said in a video posted on the Rwandan Football Association (FERWAFA) X handle.
“I invite everyone this Friday to come and support us during our match against Nigeria. We have a big advantage when playing at home. We also have another game against Lesotho coming up. We want everyone to come and support us.”
Hello everyone
Jojea KWIZERA has a message for us.

The game will serve as the first official match for Malian Eric Chelle who became the permanent head coach, seven months after the dismissal of former international Finidi George.
