Mohamed Salah was the star of the show as he found the he back of the net four times in Egypt’s 6-0 bashing of Djibouti in Group A of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Thursday.
The Liverpool star got things off at the Cairo International Stadium in the 17th minute before doubling from the penalty spot five minutes later. He added another two goals in the second half to complete his haul while Mostafa Mohamed and Trezeguet scored the remaining two goals.

Salah’s four goals took him above Mohamed Aboutreika to become Egypt’s top scorer in the World Cup Qualifiers with 15 goals in 21 matches.
In Group G, Algeria recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Somalia. Ahmed Abdullahi Abdi put the ball into his own net in the second minute before Al Saad forward Baghdad Bounedjah doubled it in the 31st minute. Somalia pulled one back in the 65th minute courtesy of Issa Abatari but Algeria extended their lead in the 80th minute via veteran forward Islam Slimani.
The other Group G game saw Mozambique record a 3-2 away win over Botswana while in Group F, Burundi got the better of The Gambia with a 3-2 win as well and Gabon came from a goal down to defeat Kenya 2-1.
In Group B, Sudan and Togo played out a 1-1 draw while it was a goalless affair between Lusophone rivals Cape Verde and Angola in Group D.
