Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has claimed the Gerd Muller Trophy as the best striker at the 2024 Ballon d’Or award ceremony in Paris on Monday night, Afrosport reports.
The Englishman was a class apart for the Bavarian giants last season where he scored 44 goals in 45 competitive appearances to finish as the Europe’s highest goalscorer, 36 of which came in 32 Bundesliga games.
He also finished joint top-scorer with three goals at the Euro 2024 championship in Germany where England finished as runners-up.
He has continued his blistering scoring form in the ongoing season with 15 goals and six assists in 12 competitive games.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez collected the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old helped Aston Villa to a fourth place finish in the Premier League last season which earned them a spot in the UEFA Champions League where they currently top the new league phase format with three wins from three and are yet to concede.
