World No. 4 Djokovic to play Shanghai Masters in October

UCL: Bosschaart confident Feyenoord can progress despite Quinten Timber season-ending injury

Former world No.1 Novak Djokovic will compete at next month’s Shanghai Masters, organisers confirmed on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old has not featured in an official match since his US Open semi-final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz earlier this month.

Since then, the 24-time Grand Slam winner has kept his schedule uncertain, having played far fewer tournaments in 2025 compared with previous seasons.

Djokovic has so far only committed to the ATP 250 event in Athens from 2–8 November, which has replaced the Belgrade tournament on this year’s calendar.

His participation in the Paris Masters (27 October–2 November) and the ATP Finals in Turin (9–16 November) — the two marquee events following Shanghai — remains unconfirmed.

Djokovic is no stranger to success in Shanghai, having lifted the title in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018. The tournament is set to run from 1-12 October.
