World Athletics championships: Amusan breezes into women’s 100m hurdles semis

World record holder, Tobi Amusan won Heat 5 of the Women’s 100m hurdles to qualify for the semi-final at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

Amusan returned to action for the first time on Tuesday since her provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) and she dominated her heat in style.

She saw off competition from Jamaica’s Megan Tapper by clocking 12.48 seconds while Tapper finished the race in 12.51 secs.

Amusan is scheduled to return to the track on Wednesday by 7.45 pm (West African Time) for the Women’s 100m hurdles semi-final.
