Injured Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott will not be at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Wollacott picked up a finger injury on Saturday before Charlton Athletic’s 3-3 draw against Burton Albion in League One.
Wollacott’s injury comes as a blow for Ghana with second-choice option Richard Ofori also out of the competition after an injury during a league match for Orlando Pirates.
Another notable absence in coach Otto Addo’s team list is Crystal Palace’s Jeffrey Schlupp who has played 14 Premier League games this season.
Schlupp’s last outing for the Black Stars was in September 2021 during a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.
Before commencing their World Cup campaign against Portugal on November 24, Ghana will face Switzerland in an international friendly in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
