Super Eagles camp hit maximum capacity ahead of Russia friendly

Unity Cup 2025: Super Eagles triumph over Jamaica on penalties to win tournament

The Super Eagles camp welcomed new arrivals on Tuesday as all 20 invited players are now in Moscow ahead of their international friendly against Russia, Afrosport reports.

Eric Chelle’s side, fresh off their success in the Unity Cup 2025, will take on Russia in a friendly on Friday, 6 June, at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Chelle on Monday named a revised squad after several players withdrew from the game, citing different reasons.

18 players were present in the Eagles base on Monday, but the arrival of Russia-based forward Olakunle Olusegun and Olympiacos defender Bruno Onyemaechi currently puts the camp at maximum capacity.

Onyemaechi, meanwhile, was the last player to arrive due to visa issues, which forced him to miss Tuesday’s training.

Chelle now has a full house to call on with the likes of captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Boniface, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Maduka Okoye, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika all in camp for the friendly.

The Super Eagles will lock horns with Russia for the first time, with the game set for 6pm Nigerian Time.
