Liverpool have reportedly agreed to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz for a club record transfer fee of £116 million, Afrosport reports.
According to The Times, the 22-year-old German is set to sign a five-year contract worth £100 million guaranteed with another £16 million in add-ons, and will undergo his medical in the coming days.
Wirtz will become the second summer signing for Liverpool and the second from Leverkusen after Netherlands full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
The Leverkusen academy graduate has been one of the renowned names in German football since making his senior team debut in 2020.
He was also instrumental in Dier Werkself winning their first Bundesliga title unbeaten during the 2023-24 campaign and was named the Player of the Season.
Wirtz will leave BayArena having scored 57 goals and provided 65 assists in 197 matches across all competitions.
