Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will spend the next couple of weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury, Leicester City manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy confirmed on Thursday.
Ndidi, who started Leicester’s 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium last weekend, was replaced by Oliver Skipp in the 52nd minute after a collision Brazilian forward Joao Pedro.
The 27-year-old will be out of action for “a couple of weeks” and will miss the Foxes’ trip to Newcastle United on Saturday.
“He, Ndidi, has a hamstring injury, so he’s not available for Saturday’s game,” Van Nistelrooy told the club website.
“We’re looking at his progress and how he will react to the injury, but it looks like it’s at least a couple of weeks.”

The Foxes are currently 16th in the league standings with 14 points, and are unbeaten in two games since Van Nistelrooy’s appointment.
