‘We are not satisfied’ – Ancelotti eyes 16th UCL title with Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says his team are not yet satisfied after winning a record-extending 15th UEFA Champions League title on Saturday.

Los Blancos defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 courtesy of goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior to further cement their status as the undisputed kings of European football.

Despite the achievement, Ancelotti wants a 16th for the club and a fourth for himself in Madrid colours.

“There is no concern about playing for a full trophy cabinet. There are continuous demands at this club, we are never satisfied. We will have another fantastic day tomorrow with our fans, then we’ll rest,” the Italian tactician said.

“My players will be at the Euro, the Copa America et cetera. We’ll come back with the same eagerness, excitement and anticipation as before.”

Ancelotti further added: “That’s the way it is, that’s the way football is. What goes through my head? I’m really happy, really, really content. Everybody is now waiting for a ninth [Champions League] final victory in a row.

“The danger of not winning was real tonight. Borussia were really good in the first half and were an uncomfortable rival in that respect. What’s going to happen next? Something is going to happen for sure. We will be competitive, we have lost a really important player [Toni Kroos] but we have players who can replace him. In a different way, little by little, we will work out how to manage that, like I have always done.

“We will adapt to the characteristics of the players we have in our squad. If we don’t have Toni Kroos we will have to play in a slightly different way, but we have fantastic players and we have the resources in order to remain competitive.”

Asides, the Champions League, Ancelotti helped Real Madrid to a 36th La Liga title and 13th Supercopa de Espana.
