Ajakaye opened the scoring for the Falconets in the 11th minute with an audacious lob over the goalkeeper after she left her defender dead for pace.
The talismanic forward got her second of the game on the hour mark to put Nigeria into a comfortable two-goal lead. She intercepted a loose clearance by the Burkina Faso defenders before sending a thunderous strike into the top left corner.
The brace took Ajakaye’s tally for the competition to five goals after her hat-trick in their thrashing of Niger in the opening game.
With three minutes till the end of regulation time, the vibrant Sabastine made it three with a fine strike off a beautiful pass from Amina Bello to ensure Nigeria ended the group stages in first position.
The Falconets have now scored 16 goals and conceded none in the tournament so far and will face Benin Republic in the semifinal on Wednesday, May 31, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi.
