The heavy downpour in Accra, the Ghanaian capital city has forced the postponement of the group stage match between Nigeria and Togo in the WAFU B U17 Championship.
The final group game that was initially slated for Wednesday at the University of Ghana Stadium will now take place on Thursday morning at the same venue.
The other Group B match between Burkina Faso and Niger was also postponed due to the heavy rain on Wednesday.
The Golden Eaglets are currently locked on four points after two games in Ghana and they need just a point against Togo to advance into the semi-final.
Manu Garba’s team started their title defence against familiar foes Burkina Faso which ended in a goalless draw but they edged Niger in their second game, courtesy of Rapha Adams’ only goal.
Nigeria are chasing qualification for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and could face either Ghana or Ivory Coast in the semi-final if they progress in the regional tournament.
