Vinicius Junior says it will be difficult to win to win the Ballon d’Or after helping Real Madrid to their 15th UEFA Champions League title.
The Brazilian superstar scored the second goal to land his second European title in the colours of Madrid and his third trophy this season after winning the La Liga and Supercopa de Espana.
The top form of Vinicius Junior this season where he scored a total of 24 goals and provided 11 assists, has led to suggestions he is the prime candidate to win the next Ballon d’Or award.
He will however be up against the likes of teammate Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane among others.
“It’s very difficult to win the Ballon d’Or because of the whole process behind it, but I believe all those I’m with every day. They tell me I’m the best and I end up believing it,” Vinicius Junior said.

Reflecting on winning his second Champions League title, the 23-year-old stated: “I’m very happy to be able to win another Champions League with this club, which has given me so much. It’s an incredible thing. Not everyone can experience it and win it so many times. It looks like it’s easy to come here and win. We suffered a lot throughout the season, with all the injuries we’ve had. Everyone has worked incredibly hard to get here.
“I’m very happy to have been here for so long. Hopefully the presi can renew my contract because I want to be here forever and continue making history like Carvajal, Nacho, Modric or Kroos. They have won the Champions League six times and they’ve shown us the way. I want to be like them. I’d like to retire here, although I don’t think the people at Flamengo will let me.”
Vinicius will now turn his attention to the 2024 Copa America in the United States with the Brazil national team.
