Real Valladolid on Monday announced the sacking of manager Diego Cocca due to their poor run of form, Afrosport reports.
Cocca, who joined Valladolid in December, has been relieved of his duties after just eight games in charge of the team.
“Real Valladolid has decided to end Diego Cocca’s time as head of the first team of the Blanquivioleta. The Argentine coach has been in charge of Pucela for eight official matches, seven in LaLiga and one in the Copa del Rey,” the club stated in a statement on its website.
“The Club would like to thank Cocca and his coaching staff for their performance as Blanquivioletas and wishes them the best of luck in their new personal and professional stages.”
Cocca led Valladolid to just one win in his eight games in charge, a 1-0 home win against Real Betis.
The club, meanwhile, announced that youth team coach Alvaro Rubio will oversee first team action, starting from Wednesday, and will be in the dugout on Sunday against Athletic Club.
Valladolid were beaten 4-0 by Sevilla on Sunday, with the club languishing in 20th place in La Liga standings with 15 points after 24 games.
