Chiamaka Nnadozie saved a penalty as Paris FC defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in their UEFA Women’s Champions League Group D encounter on Thursday night.
The Nigeria shot stopper was fresh off being crowned the African Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year at the CAF Awards in Marrakech on Monday.
Paris raced to a 2-0 in the opening six minutes at Stade Charlety thanks to Julie Dufour and Gaetane Thiney. Real Madrid had the opportunity halve the deficit in the 28th minute but Nnadozie was alert to save FIFA Women’s World Cup winner Olga Carmona’s penalty.

The Spanish side still managed to find a goal in the 53rd minute courtesy of Caroline-Sophie Moller but that was a far as they could go with Nnadozie making a total of three saves across the 90 minutes at the Charlety.
The victory was Paris FC’s first in Europe this season and sees them leapfrog Madrid to third place in Group D behind Hacken and Chelsea.
