UEL: Nigeria’s Boniface and Ghana’s Kudus set for Leverkusen-West Ham Q/Final showdown

Victor Boniface and Mohammed Kudus will be set for a Nigeria-Ghana showdown when Bayer Leverkusen face West Ham United in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals following Friday’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland.

Leverkusen came from two goals down against Qarabag to win 3-2 and 5-4 on aggregate while West Ham overcame a first leg 1-0 loss against Freiburg to win 5-0 with Kudus netting a brace.

The fixture between Leverkusen and West Ham sets up a Nigeria-Ghana match up that is sure to get social media buzzing when Boniface and Kudus take to the pitch in the first leg on April 11 and the return leg a week later.

In other draw outcomes, Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool will take on Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta. Both men were on target on Thursday, Salah netting his 20th goal of the season for the seventh consecutive campaign for the Reds in a 6-1 bashing of Sparta Prague while Lookman scored his first European goal for Atalanta in their 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon.

Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan will go up against Houssem Aouar’s AS Roma while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Olympique Marseille will tackle Benfica.

The semi-final will see the winner of the West Ham vs Leverkusen tie take on either winner of the AC Milan vs Roma clash while it will be the winner of the Benfica vs Marseille tie against the winner of Liverpool’s clash with Atalanta.
