Brazilian winger scored for the first time since his return to Real Betis as the Spanish side played out a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Estadio de la Curtuja in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday, Afrosport reports.

The 25-year-old joined the Andalusian outfit on a permanent basis from Manchester United after a successful loan spell that saw the team reach the UEFA Conference League final and finish sixth in La Liga.

He got things rolling in the 15th minute when he laid the ball for DR Congo forward Cedric Bakambu to rifle home.

Betis’ lead did not last for long as new Forest signing Igor Jesus scored a brace in the 18th and 23rd minute, the second occasion he scored twice for the Midlands outfit having done so in the 3-2 defeat to Swansea City in the EFL Cup second round.

The momentum remained in favour of Ange Postecoglou’s side until the 85th minute when Antony fired a shot from a Marc Roca cross.


In other Europa League results on Wednesday, FC Midtjylland of Denmark defeated Sturm Graz of Austria 2-0 while PAOK of Greece and Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel played out a goalless draw.

Portuguese side Braga defeated Feyenoord 1-0 while Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb stunned Turkish heavyweights Fenerbahce 3-1 and Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets edged Malmo of Sweden 2-1.
