UCL: Mali’s Bilal Toure ecstatic after helping Stuttgart to massive win over Juventus

El Bilal Toure did not hide his delight after scoring the only goal in Stuttgart’s massive 1-0 win over Italian giants Juventus in the UEFA Champions League at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday night, Afrosport reports.

The Mali international scored the all-important goal deep in added time after Juve were reduced to 10 men when Danilo for given a second yellow card for a challenge inside the penalty box which gave Stuttgart a penalty.

French midfielder Enzo Millot however had his spot kick saved by Juve goalie Mattia Perin. Bilal Toure was able to save the day for the Germans after putting a lot of pressure on the Bianconeri and owed the victory to proper preparation.

“I’m happy to have scored the goal that gave us an important victory. It wasn’t an easy match because Juventus are a very strong team, but we prepared really well for this and ultimately, we got the result we wanted,” he told the club website.


The goal was Toure’s first-ever Champions League goal and his second goal of the season after netting in a 5-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

He is currently on loan from reigning Europa League champions Atalanta.
