Pep Guardiola has found it hard to swallow Manchester City’s 3-3 draw with Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, Afrosport reports.
The Citizens raced to a comfortable 3-0 lead courtesy of goals from Erling Haaland (brace) and Ilkay Gundogan but were pegged back in the final 15 minutes when Feyenoord levelled through Anis Hadj-Moussa, Santiago Gimenez and David Hancko.
Guardiola was at loss for words after the game, saying to reporters: “So difficult to swallow right now. The game was good. We played [well], we scored three and could have scored more.
“We do everything but at the end we give away, especially the first (Feyenoord) one, and after we are not stable enough to do it [and win the match].”
75 – Manchester City are the first team in UEFA Champions League history to be leading a match by three goals as late as the 75th minute and fail to go on to win. Unbelievable. pic.twitter.com/QFkxrMUEbN

The result ended Man City’s five-game losing stretch but has now seen them winless in six and Guardiola his players are desperate to have that winning feeling once again having never been in such a position before.
“They feel it. They want to win. [They are] desperate. That’s why they played the way they played [to go 3-0 up]. So, it’s not easy,” he added.
“They played really good in many, many, many aspects. How many chances did we concede? But again, three goals [conceded]. We made 26 shots against Tottenham [and] they had nine [shots] and we lost 0-4. We are a team.
“Always we conceded few, few goals in these eight, nine years. We were so stable through the games to control, to defend well and now it’s not going to happen.”
City will face another daunting task when they take on Premier League title rivals Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.
