Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured a 5-0 victory against Jos-based academy Skylink FC in a friendly match played at the FIFA Global Project Pitch in the nation’s capital of Abuja on Friday.
The match, which was part of the Ladan Bosso-led side’s preparation for the upcoming 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, saw Spain-based forward Ibrahim Muhammad bag a brace.
Ba’akaka Ali also scored twice, while hardworking midfielder Samson Lawal scored once to complete the rout.
The Flying Eagles booked a spot in this year’s U20 World Cup after beating Uganda in the quarter-finals of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where they finished third.
They have been drawn in Group D of the U-20 World Cup with five-time winners Brazil, Italy, and the Dominican Republic.
The Mundial will kick off on May 20 and run until June 11.

The Flying Eagles will, however, be hoping for a better tournament than their last three appearances, where they were knocked out in the round of 16 in 2013, 2015, and 2019.
They will depart Nigeria for Argentina on May 6 for their final preparations after their proposed training tour of Spain was called off, with the team set for an extended stay in the South American nation before the start of the competition.
