Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, will relocate to Ikenne, Ogun State, for the final leg of their training camp as they gear up for this month’s WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo, Afrosport reports.
The young Eagles are expected to resume camping at Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Remo Stars’ Sport Institute, where they will undergo intense physical and tactical training for a week before leaving for Lome, Togo.
The Aliyu Zubairu-led side have been drawn in a tricky group as they will have to battle Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B.
Nigeria, the defending champions of the U20 WAFU B tournament, will be hoping to replicate the form that saw them emerge as champions two years ago in Niger Republic.
The championship, which will hold between October 17 and 31, will serves as the qualifiers for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which in turn serve as the qualifying tournament to select a quartet of African representatives at next year’s FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile.
