U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles get Tunisia, Kenya & Morocco in fresh draw

2023 African Games: Flying Eagles start on losing note against Uganda

Nigeria’s under-20 men’s team, the Flying Eagles, have been drawn in Group B of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Afrosport reports.

The Flying Eagles will battle Tunisia, Kenya, and Morocco following a fresh draw conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday in Cairo, Egypt.

This follows Ivory Coast’s withdrawal as hosts of the competition, prompting Egypt to step in as the new venue for the tournament.

The Flying Eagles were initially drawn to face Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa, but the seven-time champions will now kick off their campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, 28 April.

Meanwhile, Group A has new hosts Egypt up against South Africa, Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Tanzania.

In Group C, defending champions Senegal are drawn alongside the Central African Republic, DR Congo, and Ghana’s Black Satellites.

The U20 AFCON will kick off on 27 April with Egypt battling South Africa, while the final is scheduled for 18 May, with the four semi-finalists to represent Africa at the 2025 U20 FIFA World Cup in Chile.
