The draw for this year’s under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco was conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday, Afrosport reports.
16 teams from CAF’s six regions were divided into four groups, with the two teams from the Central African Football Federations’ Union (UNIFFAC) yet to be decided.
Group A of the U-17 AFCON consists of last edition’s runners-up Morocco, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia.
Group B, meanwhile, has one-time winners Burkina Faso and Egypt as well as South Africa and one team from UNIFFAC.
Defending champions Senegal are joined by two-time winners The Gambia, Somalia, and Tunisia in Group C, while Group D contains two-time winners Mali, 2013 champions Cote d’Ivoire, Angola, and the other team from UNIFFAC.

The U-17 AFCON will take place in Morocco from 30 March to 19 April, and the four semi-finalists from the tournament will represent the continent at the U17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar from 5-27 November.
