Thomas Frank praises ‘dangerous’ Brentford attack with Mbeumo and Wissa

Del Piero defends Lookman response to Atalanta boss Gasperini

Brentford manager Thomas Frank says his team’s attack comprising of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa look “dangerous”, Afrosport reports.

The Cameroonian and Congolese scored in the Bees’ 4-0 win at struggling Leicester City in the Premier League on Friday night, the former also providing an assist for Christian Norgaard.

Frank not only praised Mbeumo and Wissa after the game but also Mikel Damsgaard, who provided two assists for the African duo, and the club’s third most expensive signing Kevin Schade.

“It was a very, very good win, of course,” said Frank. “It’s difficult to win in the Premier League, difficult to win away from home, and the way we did it 4-0 is very impressive,” the Danish tactician told the club website.

“We did what we didn’t manage to do last weekend against West Ham in the first half, which was more or less killing the game off.

“It was very impressive, the way we went forward, we look so dangerous with our front four; the runners of Kevin [Schade] and Bryan [Mbeumo], but also [Yoane] Wissa and the creator in Mikkel Damsgaard behind.

“On the flip side, I think it’s a big praise to the defence for keeping another clean sheet – that’s a team thing, of course – but the back four did well…”

Wissa and Mbeumo have a combined 33 goal involvements (27 goals, six assists) in the Premier League this season with Brentford 20 points clear of the relegation zone and seven points away from the top four.
