Thomas Frank open to having Kane back at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has opened the door for Harry Kane to return to the club in the near future, Afrosport reports.

The England forward left Spurs for Bayern Munich in 2023 in a £100 million move. He spent all of his career at the club, scoring 280 goals to become their all-time top scorer, with 213 of them in the Premier League, which sees him second on the all-time list behind Alan Shearer (260 goals).

According to Sky Sports, Kane has a clause in his Bayern contract that allows him to return to North London in January 2026 for just £54 million.

It is yet to be seen if the Lillywhites will exercise that option, as Kane is in a rich vein of form at Bayern with 13 goals in seven games in all competitions this season, while he has scored 98 goals and provided 29 assists since he joined the Bavarian giants.

“There are a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back,” Frank said.

“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern [Munich] and continue performing well. He was the top scorer last year. He won the title, and he’s doing fantastic now.

“I don’t know what he’s thinking. Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to explore things as well, so he’s been here for many years, so why not enjoy the time in Bayern a little bit more.

“But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome.”

Tottenham have won three out of five competitive games this season since Frank took charge in the summer after the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.

They will face Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
